Oleamide as an Environment-friendly Additive for Styrene Butadiene Rubber/Silica Compound: The Strength and Elasticity Behaviours

Abstract One relatively new additive for rubber compound named oleamide was made from urea and oleic acid of palm oil. The applied in compounding technology; by adding it to styrene butadiene (SBR)/silica compound. silica added at 30 parts per hundred SBR, whilst the loaded silica-filled SBR with varying amounts i.e., 2 8 phr and, those SBR/silica/oleamide compounds were vulcanized 150 °C applying a semi-efficient formulation method. It revealed that acted as co-curing plasticizing chemical SBR/silica decreased viscosity but increased curing rate bigger amount, less shorter time. also shifted tensile moduli (M100) strength. breaking elongation (elasticity) than phr. Tensile strength maximal value addition.
